What is Agent Factory

Agent Factory is a standards compliant framework that supports the development of deployment of multi-agent systems that are comprised of agents that, potentially employ a diverse range of reasoning models.

Agent Factory provides a distributed Run-Time Environment together with a number of generic tools and a set of APIs that help developers to create their own agent intepreters / architectures, platform services, tool support, debuggers, monitoring tools, etc.

Where can I download Agent Factory?

Probably the easiest way to get started is by using the Agent Factory Eclipse Plugin. Releases can be downloaded from the downloads page.

Where can I report bugs?

Bugs can be reported to the bug tracker.

Where can I download the source code?

Source distributions are also available on the downloads page. Alternatively, you can retrieve source code from the Agent Factory SVN repository. Instructions on how to do this are located here.

How do I get started?

The best way to start using Agent Factory is to download and install the Agent Factory Eclipse Plugin. This contains a complete release of the Agent Factory framework together with the most current interpreter / architecture implementations. I would then recommend that you take a look at either the AFAPL Programmers Guide or the AF-AgentSpeak Programmers Guide. These describe how to create agents using an agent programming language.

I want to do a project related to Agent Factory: is there anything useful I can do?

Great! The developers of Agent Factory maintain a List of Project Ideas that is essentially a wish-list of features and tools that we'd love to implement but haven't had the resources to do so. We would be very interested in co-operating with anybody who is keen to take on one of these tasks.
